ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kerem Kuscu was born in Canakkale, in 1985. He graduated from The Department of Painting at Canakkale Huseyin Akif Terzioglu High School of Fine Arts (2004) and department of Painting Instructorship of Canakkale 18 Mart University (2008). During this time, he was interested in art, including painting, cinema (short film directing/screenwriting) and sculpture. He has worked on digital drawing and editing programs. Apart from these, he taught visual arts in different educational institutions. Since 2011, he has been working as an art instructor and coordinator at the Art Academy of the Arnavutkoy Youth Education Center.
He has been working on art in his private studio for five years. In addition to creating figure-weighted compositions in his paintings, he also includes spaces he has constructed with different perspective and composition rules. With the use of paint, which tries to adapt to multi-layered and contrasting colors, the existential anxieties and feelings of loneliness come to the fore in their paintings, which create a melancholic and expressionist meaning.
