Ugur Coskun was born in Gaziantep, in 1985. In 2010, he graduated from Kocaeli University, Department of Sculpture. During his academic education, he held his first solo titled as "Pure". Coskun, who participated in many group exhibitions, had the chance to develop his sculpting techniques by attending stone sculpture symposiums and apply new designs in search of his own style. He is currently teaching in private institutions in sculpture discipline and continues to practice art in Istanbul.
Artist's understanding of sculpture; it forms the basis of new abstract pursuits with the synthesis of academic understanding brought by traditional education. The main problem of sculpture is the volume and the concept of purity with the effects of the space on human beings are the main issues that the artist resorts to when producing his sculptures. Coskun, who is trying to establish a connection between man and nature in his abstract themes, brings us into the sculpture with new variations in the journey of the form towards the core or the essence. Based on the inherent purity of man and the theory that he will never be disturbed, the sculptures he produces form a part of us with his message. In addition, he practices every discipline that can be the subject and corry of the sculpture using waste materials, metal, wood and all other psychics without material restrictions.
